Parents with fibromyalgia often struggle with raising kids

Individuals who suffer from fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue syndrome often struggle doing daily activities. For those who have kids, life can be even more challenging. Taking care of children when you have fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue syndrome can be a daunting task as some people have a hard time getting out of bed for days or weeks at a time.

The challenges of raising a family when you suffer from one of these medical conditions can be very hard to accept. Some parents may feel like they are letting their children and family down. However, individuals living with these conditions should know they are not alone and that help is out there.

Parents with young children may feel guilty about not always being able to do "normal" activities with their kids. While this can be difficult to deal with, especially if you are struggling with a severe bout of pain. However, parents should remember that children just need to feel loved by their parents and know that they are there for them. You don't need to go out to water parks or playgrounds with your kids to spend quality time with them.

In addition to facing challenges when raising a family, many individuals with fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue syndrome struggle with working a full-time job. These conditions can be physically and mentally exhausting, which can make it a challenge to continue working.

Individuals with the medical conditions should consider applying for Social Security disability benefits. SSDI benefits can help individuals afford monthly living expenses as well as medical treatment to ease their pain. SSDI applications can be complex and may be subject to multiple reviews before it is approved or denied. Individuals may want to consult a Social Security disability attorney for help.
